ABSTRACT:
Quercetin, a flavonoid widely present in fruits, vegetables, and medicinal plants, exhibits potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and cardiovascular protective effects. This study aimed to develop and validate a simple, rapid, sensitive, and cost-effective UV-visible spectrophotometric method for the quantification of quercetin in marketed Amla tablets. Standard and sample solutions were prepared and scanned at 256 nm, which was identified as the ?max. The method was validated according to ICH Q2(R1) guidelines for specificity, linearity (2–10 µg/mL, R² = 0.9993), accuracy (99.81–100.7% recovery), precision (%RSD <2%), LOD (0.206 µg/mL), and LOQ (0.624 µg/mL). The proposed method showed no interference from excipients, demonstrated robustness, and was successfully applied to commercially available Amla tablets. The method can be used for routine quality control and estimation of quercetin in pharmaceutical formulations.
