ABSTRACT:
Rosuvastatin calcium (ROS) inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, thereby slows atherosclerosis progression and prevent cardiovascular disease. Atenolol (ATN) is beta 1-selective adrenergic blocker. It is commonly used to treat hypertension, either alone or in conjunction with other antihypertensive medications. As their combination shows synergistic activity immediate release tablet formulation is developed in the present study. The pre-formulation and post-formualtion studies were conducted and AR2 was determined to be best formulation. pKa value for both the drugs were determined by UV-Spectroscopy. The pKa value was found to be 4.317 for ROS and 9.2027 for ATN.
