ABSTRACT:
It is easy and effective to obtain a range of isoquinolines and ß-carbolines and their natural derivatives, including 3,4-dihydropapaverine, Harmane, and Eudistomin U, via ß-elimination and aromatization. Additionally, this protocol works well in the synthesis of partially dehydrogenated isoquinolines at a good yield.
