ABSTRACT:
Background: In Charaka Samhita, Rasapachaka Kwatha is described as herbal medicine preparation that advised for Jwara (fever). It is potent appetizer also. Rasapachaka Kwatha was modified into syrup form for this study in order to address the adolescent population's taste concerns. Standardising the modified medication is essential in ensuring that the drug formulation is easily reproducible. Therefore, the purpose of the current study was to assess the pharmaceutical and pharmacognostic characteristics of the Rasapachaka Syrup that was designed for use among adolescents. Methods: The raw drug was identified and authenticated by the experts of Pharmacognosy laboratory, ITRA, Jamnagar, Gujarat, India. Subsequently, Pharmacy, ITRA, Jamnagar was approached for raw drugs, and standard methodology was implemented in the preparation of syrup there. The organoleptic parameters, microbiological investigation, pharmacognocy examination, physicochemical variables, and high-performance thin-layer chromatography of the syrup sample were assessed. Results: Rasapachaka Syrup had a more convenient taste than the traditional formulation. As far as microbial proliferation was concerned, stability was normal. The Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India norms were comparable to all other analysed parameters. Conclusion: It was discovered that Rasapachaka Syrup was quite palatable for adolescent for treatment purpose. The final formulation's pharmacognostical and physicochemical assessment showed that it matches nearly all pharmacopeial requirements; as therefore, the study's findings may be utilised for pharmaceutical standards for Rasapachaka Syrup.
