ABSTRACT:
Currently, the development of new means for delivering active substances is considered as the most promising direction in the creation of original application drugs - phytofilms. Phytofilms are intended for application to the skin or mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, etc. The herb Xanthium strumarium L. is used in folk medicine as an anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and wound-healing agent. In this regard, the use of a thick extract of Xanthium strumarium L. as a medicinal agent will increase the range of finished drugs for use in dental practice. The article presents the results of a study on the development of a dental phytofilm composition using an alcohol extract of Xanthium strumarium L. with the addition of ascorbic acid substance. In the course of experimental studies, we obtained various models of dental films containing active and auxiliary substances. Standardization of dental phytofilm was carried out, quality indicators were established such as: organoleptic properties, identification of main components, pH of the environment, quantitative determination of active ingredients, solubility, elasticity, adhesion and moisture absorption parameters of the developed dosage form.
