ABSTRACT:
Two new simple, precise and accurate spectrophotometric methods were developed for the simultaneous determination of Glibenclamide and Metformin combined dosage forms. First order derivative (Method I) and simultaneous equation method (Method II) were developed for the assay of Glibenclamide and Metformin in phosphate buffer (pH 8.0). Linearity was observed 1-80 µg/ml and 1-10 µg/ml in Method I for Glibenclamide and Metformin respectively; 10-100 µg/ml and 1-10 µg/ml in Method II for Glibenclamide and Metformin respectively. Both the methods were validated and applied for the simultaneous determination of Glibenclamide and Metformin tablets.
