ABSTRACT:
Background/Objectives: Given that research on women with disability in Korea is in its early stage, this study aimed to investigate research trends on the topic in Korea to provide directions for future research. Method/Statistical analysis: For this purpose, the current study reviewed 45 domestic articles about the topic registered (or nominated to be) in the National Research Foundation of Korea. Using content analysis, these articles were analyzed in terms of subjects of research, research themes, and research methods. Findings: With regard to research subjects, the results of the analysis indicated that women with disability were described as client, family, and worker. The results revealed 10 research themes in the following: motherhood experiences including child-rearing, examining current states of women with disability plus policy or service suggestions, employment or work, quality of life or life satisfaction, discrimination, marriage-related issues, social or community integration, program or service-related issues, violence, and others. In terms of research methods used, empirical research methods were the most common. Improvements/Applications: Results of analysis suggested research endeavor to extend the scope of research subjects, themes, and research designs in this filed.
