ABSTRACT:
This study throws a light on assessing the research impact of scholarly communication of pharmaceutical research in India. Measuring impact is important for promotion and tenure, determining research quality, visibility of institution and productivity of Indian authors and to assess potential for grant funding. Pharmaceutical science deals with the study of drugs which evolves the depth information of biological, chemical and medical science. The basic goal of the pharmaceutical science is to confirm the efficacy, safety and potency of drugs or medicine. In pharmaceutical research high investment is done to get high returns when a drug successfully introduced. A tremendous growth in pharmaceutical research is found in last two decade. India with 112,502 pharmaceutical research publications were indexed in Scopus holds 3rd position among the global context.
