ABSTRACT:
Background/Objectives: This study was conducted to review the relation between marine safety awareness and marine safety attitude of people experienced in marine safety education. Methods/Statistical analysis: Subjects were selected from people experienced in marine safety education and a questionnaire was used on the subjects. A total of 336 completed questionnaires were used for analysis, in particular for exploratory factor analysis, confidence level verification, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Findings: First, the sub-variables of marine safety awareness showed a positive correlation with marine safety awareness and safety incident prevention, while marine safety education showed a positive correlation with both behavioral and definitive traits. Second, marine safety education showed a positive effect on behavioral traits. Marine safety awareness, marine safety incident prevention, and marine safety education all had a positive effect on definitive traits. Third, definitive traits had a positive effect on marine safety awareness, while marine safety incident prevention as well as behavioral and definitive traits had a positive effect on marine safety attitudes. Improvements/Applications: Based on the findings of this study, we can conclude that the marine safety awareness and marine safety attitude of people experienced in marine safety education has a mutually positive effect on marine safety incident prevention.
