ABSTRACT:
Sol-gel is an interesting method for producing pure silicate or anesthetic materials for use in physical optics. In addition, it has been shown that the mastery of xerogel porosity is related to post-doping preparation or fluid treatment. Silica-coated silica Xerogel has been prepared to detect gamma rays using gel and condensation under inert gas (argon). Gotten after the Xerogel sintering under argon gas, it provides enhanced optical features, while enhancing the quantum yield of bright light, due to the higher concentration of Ce+ 3 ions. This a glassy rod was drawn at high temperature for the sample, that employed gamma-ray radiation detection. In this research, we firstly examined RL signal of a cerium-doped rod exposed to ?-rays in the extreme dose system. The intensity of RL signal it has been increased with increasing gamma ray doses until reaches 500 rad, that creates this material a prospective applicant for detection of radiation in harsh surroundings.
