ABSTRACT:
Ashwagandha is the common name of Withania somnifera that is used from long years ago for their pharmaceutical exercises. It’s roots, leaves and fruits contain several primary and secondary metabolites among which withanolides are most important. Wide range of medicinal uses of ashwagandha includes anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and antitumour properties. Present review has covered different types of medicinal applications of Withania somnifera.
