ABSTRACT:
The senna crop is most commonly cultivated in certain parts of India. This crop is used in medical applications to develop a purgative and anti bacterial medicines. It requires very less amount of water for irrigation. It is highly sensitive to water; the crop may decompose if water content in the soil is high. Due to lack of water farmers of India are moving towards this crop, but lack of knowledge in this crop may cost them high. To improve the quality and yield of senna crop and encourage the next generation farmers in senna cultivation an irrigation system was developed using PIC microcontroller. This system will be designed at low cost with better performance so that it can be afford by any farmers.
