ABSTRACT:
An ease and easy to acknowledge optical temperature sensor is proposed. The sensor is created on the fiber end by expelling, close to the fiber tip, the cladding of a multimode plastic optical fiber (POF) with a cleaning procedure, to store, by plunge covering, a silicone layer around the fiber tip. We have tentatively tried the sensor by measuring, at various wavelengths, the temperature of a water shower. The best sensor's exhibitions were acquired at a wavelength of 625 nm.
