ABSTRACT:
Introduction:Mental annoyance and sleep disorders caused by noise pollution are common phenomenon in modern societies, especially in industry. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the dose of noise exposure with sleep quality and noise annoyance in the industrial workers. Materials and Methods:This is a descriptive correlational study in which 200 workers in various industries of Qom industrial city on classification quota methods were selected and evaluated, in this study measurement of sound was conducted based on the standard ISO 9612: 2009. In the second phase of study and after determine the level of noise exposure of industry workers, demographic questionnaire and self-report questionnaire of noise annoyance as well as Pitsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaire distributed among subjects and was completed in person. Results:Generally average noise annoyance in the community was 73.16 and 72% of workers have expressed that the noise annoyance in their working environment was more than 50. The results showed that, the average sleep quality score was equal to 15.6. According to the results of this study was we not found a significant relationship between the dose sounds and sleep quality as well as there are no significant correlation between any of the feels studied and sound doses. Conclusion:The results of this study showed that, there is a direct correlation between sleep quality with noise annoyance However, further studies is recommended to the combined effect of age and gender and personality traits in the sound annoyance.
