ABSTRACT:
The present study deals with isolation and identification of lead resistant bacteria from contaminated soil of Chhattisgarh, India. From morphological, biochemical analysis and 16S rRNA sequencing, one lead resistant bacteria isolate was identified as Brevibacillus brevis. Maximum tolerance concentration (MTC) was shown against the lead acetate at different levels. The higher MTC was observed 1500 µg/ml concentration of lead acetate. The present study reveals that the lead resistant bacterial isolate can be used for bioremediation of lead.
