ABSTRACT:
A series of some novel 1,2-disubstituted benzimidazole derivatives were synthesized by condensing 2-substituted benzimidazole with various primary amino compounds. The purity of synthesized compounds was confirmed by melting point determination and thin layer chromatography method. The chemical structure of synthesized compounds was characterized using IR-Spectroscopy. The compounds were docked against the target enzyme Biotin Carboxylase. The compounds showed significant binding energy (PA4, PA5, PA6, PA10) were evaluated for their in vitro anti-bacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhi by well diffusion method using the standard drug Chloramphenicol. Among the tested compound PA 5 and PA6 shows significant anti-bacterial activity.
