ABSTRACT:
Benzimidazole and its derivatives represent one of the most biological active classes of literature. Two series of Benzimidazole derivatives were synthesized by the condensation reaction between o-phenylenediamine and carboxylic acids in presence of ring closing agents like HCl. The chemical structures of synthesized compounds were identified by the spectral analysis. The purity of compounds was determined by thin layer chromatography (TLC). The synthesized compounds have been screened for their antimicrobial activity by paper disc method.
