ABSTRACT:
Plant metabolites are proven source to perform biological activities such as antimicrobial, anticancer, antioxidant etc. In this study, Desmotachya sp was collected from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The crude extracts were obtained using various solvents like acetone, ethanol, chloroform and petroleum ether. The extracts obtained were subjected for qualitative analysis for phytochemicals as well as TLC bio autography analysis for antioxidants and antibacterial activity. Further the crude extracts were fractionized using column chromatography and all the fractions were subjected for spot assay for antioxidant activity.
