ABSTRACT:
The aim of any invasive procedure is the complete eradication and elimination of the infection and associated necrotic tissue followed by repair and regeneration of the affected tissue. The development of bioactive surgical additives is to regulate the inflammation and increase the speed of healing process. In this sense, platelet rich fibrin (PRF) alone or in combination with other biomaterials, appears as a natural and satisfactory factor with favourable results and low risks. This review reveals the role of platelet rich fibrin, its advantages, disadvantages and its clinical application.
