ABSTRACT:
AIM: To determine the body mass index in children aged between 10-17 years and spread awareness about obesity and its implications.
OBJECTIVE: the objective of the study is to determine the body mass index and also the health issues related to obesity.
BACKGROUND: Children become overweight and obese for a variety of reasons. The most common causes are genetic factors, lack of physical activity, unhealthy eating patterns, or a combination of these factors. Only in rare cases is being overweight caused by a medical condition such as a hormonal problem. Obese children are at risk for a number of conditions, including: High cholesterol, High blood pressure, Early heart disease, Diabetes, Bone problems, Skin conditions such as heat rash, fungal infections, and acne.
METHOD: Body mass index of children will be determined by knowing their height and weight.
CONCLUSION: there are various diseases and problems associated with obesity, especially in children. Due to this reason this study is about checking body mass index of the obese children.
