The present study was aimed to evaluate the nutrient status of soils collected near road sides of the experimental site selected. The study site selected were road sides of Salem new bus stand and Hasthampatty area. The soil nutrient analysis was done to have an idea about the nutrients present in the soil. The pH was alkaline in nature ensuring effective environment for the growth of the plants. The organic content, humus and total mineral content was higher for the road side soil sample collected near Hasthampatty (end of Saradha College road) when compared to sample collected near road sides New bus stand but nitrogen content was high for the same, whereas potassium was high the other site studied. Calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, copper levels was sufficient in both the samples. Deficiency of zinc, boron and variation in sulfur level was observed in both the samples.
