ABSTRACT:
Carvedilol is a vasodilating non-selective beta-blocking agent with antioxidant properties. Fast dispersible tablets have been prepared by wet granulation method. Effect of binder and superdisintegrants (such as, croscarmellose sodium, sodium starch glycolate and crospovidone) on disintegration time, drug content, in-vitro release and stability parameters has been studied. Developed formula was compared with marketed formulation. Carvedilol tablet dosage form was developed by considering COREG as innovator. All dissolution profile including stability batches were matched and F1, F2 factor were found to be satisfactory. Evaluation parameters for developed tablet were found within range specified in pharmacopoeia. All the work has done at Torrent Research Centre and SGSITS, Indore with their kind support.
