ABSTRACT:
A simple, precise and economical Area Under Curve (AUC) method has been developed for the estimation of Venlafaxine hydrochloride in bulk and pharmaceutical formulations. This method is based on calculation of AUC for analysis of Venlafaxine hydrochloride in the wavelength range of 267-278 nm. The drug follows the Beer’s law in the concentration range of 20-100 µg/ml. The values 0.94 and 1.42 represents for % RSD for intra-day and inter-day precision, respectively. The LOD and LOQ were found to be 1.27 µg / ml and 3.85 µg / ml, respectively. Mean recovery studies of Venlafaxine hydrochloride in tablet formulations were observed in the range of 98.85-100.61 %. The proposed method is precise, accurate and reproducible and can be extended to the analysis of Venlafaxine hydrochloride in bulk and pharmaceutical formulations.
